Cagnazzi Racing announced that it has entered a promotional relationship with ‘Livin It’, a positive extreme sports-themed Christian outreach program developed by
actor Stephen Baldwin.
An important part of the ‘Livin It’ program is a
45-minute DVD that was directed and is hosted by Baldwin. The DVD is a contemporary, relevant high-impact outreach tool featuring
extreme professional and amateur skateboard and BMX athletes who lead Christian lives. The DVD, released 2004, also includes bonus materials such as testimonials, outtakes, behind-the-scenes footage and excerpts from Beachfest Fort Lauderdale, winner of the 2003 Best Television Special award from the National Religious Broadcasters. More information on ‘Livin It’ may be found at
www.livinitthemovie.org.
The Oregon-based ministry Luis Palau Association is in partnership with Baldwin on the project. The DVD’s executive producer is Kevin Palau. ‘Livin It’ was produced by PalauFest Productions in association with Steelroots, Inc. and was sponsored in part by the Zondervan Corp.
“The wholesome and exciting approach of Stephen’s message is an excellent match with the fans who follow NHRA racing,” said Cagnazzi Racing team owner Victor Cagnazzi. “It’s great that our racing team is in a position to help him promote such a positive program that can make a big impact on young people’s lives.”
Baldwin is a frequent guest at races with Cagnazzi’s team.
The youngest of the Baldwin brothers acting clan, Baldwin’s versatility has landed him top roles in more than 60 films such as The Usual Suspects, Posse, 8 Seconds, A Simple Twist of Fate and Bio-Dome. His career has also included an impressive line of television credits, including leading roles in The Young Riders, Fear Factor and Celebrity Mole. Baldwin lives in upstate New York with his wife and two daughters. In addition to his involvement with ‘Livin It’, he is active in charity work and develops properties for film and television through his own production company.

Getting involved, the Coughlin family learned first-hand about the progress made at the Richard J. Solove research Institute on a recent
tour. Leading the Team Racing for Cancer Research
Two-time reigning NHRA Pro-Stock champion, Jeg Coughlin, Jr., and his three older brothers lead the race, sporting the uniquely designed racing check awareness ribbon on all Team JEG'S 2003 racing uniforms.
A Team United, On and Off the Track The Coughlins' believe in meeting a challenge head-on. It is through their personal experience with close family members and friends who were touched by this devastating disease, that the commitment was formed to establish JEG'S Foundation for Cancer Research.
"Our family has been so blessed, forming JEG's Foundation for Cancer Research is one small way we can help others meet the challenge of surviving cancer."
Reaching out through the family-run business of JEG'S Mail Order and Team JEG'S Racing, the "Racing for Research" program offers others access to information on cutting-edge cancer treatments and an avenue to become involved to make a difference.
The Coughlin Family formed The JEG's Foundation to advance the need for cancer research. Our personal experiences with cancer drove us to assist in building awareness of the many facets of cancer and help generate dollars through race earnings to advance cancer research. Thus, the motto "Racing for Cancer
Research."
Types of Cancer Cancer is a group of more than 100 diseases. Anyone can get cancer and any tissue can develop cancer. The cells that make up the normal body have genetic mechanisms to control reproduction. Cancer begins when a cell mutates (changes), loses the ability for controlled reproduction, and begins to grow
and spread.
Many environmental, chemical, viral, and personal factors may contribute to the change of a cell from normal to a cancer cell. Scientists have described the series of essential genetic steps that must occur for a cell to become transformed. This complex process may occur decades before cancer is detected.
The Ribbon Defined Each color within the JEG'S Foundation Ribbon signifies a specific cancer respectively. The famous black and white checkers signify motorsports racing and the cancers not symbolized by color.
